CPT Radiation

Radiation treatment delivery is provided by a radiation treatment facility for a patient with anapestic large cell lymphoma for two intrathoracic lymph nodes at 2 MeV in two separate treatment areas using a single port on each, with one simple block. What is the appropriate CPT code for this procedure?

Multiple choice question, I choose 77402 which was incorrect. Correct answer was 77407.

please explain this to me. I looked for the word intermediate it is not in the question??????

What does the rationale say? What do the guidelines say just before those codes in the CPT manual?

Here is the rationale - be sure you read those and they have tons of good key info you need to know and can study.

In the CPT® index, look up Radiation Therapy / Treatment Delivery/ which points to 77401, 77402, 77407, 77412. The level we need is 2 MeV which eliminates 77401 which is used for less voltage. From the description preceding code 77401 the scenario meets the definition of Intermediate treatment requirements, but not Complex treatment. The code for intermediate radiation treatment delivery is 77407.

I will. I am reading them now. I am also having problems with Mohs. Do you have any time to go over that with me?

Put it on a separate thread please. I did cover this pretty good on the Blitz segment for the integumentary system - did I not make it clear enough?
